My Mission
My mission is to maximize your potential. All my designs start with a conversation. When I take on a client, I put more than 25 years of marketing, design, and business experience into every project. Additionally, as a seminary-trained ordained minister of the gospel, I have a unique understanding of the needs of ministries and parachurch organizations. My passion is to recognize your strengths and goals and determine if I'm the best fit for the project and, second, what is the best approach to achieve your goals. I'm committed to bringing out the best in everyone we work with.
Meet Your Designer
My name is Sam Totman, and among my favorite pursuits, ministry and good design are at the top. I grew up in a family-owned sign business, developing my skills in practical design. As a teenager, I built my first website in 1995, a simple one-page site explaining the good news of the gospel. I'm a bit of a tech junkie and love to find creative ways to integrate technology to improve life and ministry.
Sensing a call to ministry, I pursued my Master of Divinity in Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary to become a gospel minister. While in seminary, I started a successful online eBay business, allowing me to serve in volunteer and bi-vocational ministry positions at church plants. I have served nearly ten years in vocational ministry as a youth pastor, education pastor, small group director, and ministry associate before becoming the Director of External Relations for the College of Christian Studies and Clamp Divinity School at Anderson University in South Carolina.
In 2018, I earned my Doctor of Education, focusing my dissertation on integrating technology into ministry. Now I regularly teach aspiring media ministers who will transform the church's effectiveness for generations to come. While I still enjoy my dual career as a marketing director and ministry professor at Anderson University, CreativeTake is the culmination of all my experience in ministry, business, teaching, and design.
